THE RUMPUS FUN CRUISE - TRENT LOCK TO LANGLEY MILL 2nd JUNE 2001

Leaving the ladies in charge - Connie and Jackie put the world to rights!

The immaculately-kept moorings at Sandiacre are handy for the pub AND supermarket!

Sandiacre Lock Cottage is the HQ of the ECPDA - the museum's open on a Sunday!

But this is the classic view, with the entrance to the Derby Canal in the foreground.

It seemed odd to be boating UNDER the M1 - I've been over the bridge times without number on the way to and from Rumpus.

One nice thing about having a Fun Cruise - there are plenty of people to do the locks! L to R, Chris Allcock, Connie Evans, Jackie Lewis and Angie Howard (backs to camera).

But when it's a Weedhatch Moment, then you're on your own!

At least you know when you've reached the top......

Rumpus in Langley Bridge Lock..........

...... and as near to home as she's likely to get, until the Cromford gets restored!

The lock gates, seen through the back doorway.

A most convivial party on board.....

..... with no less than NINE people for dinner! (L to R: Jackie, Dawn, Jeanette, Shawn the Sheep, Brian, Angie, Nick, Chris and Susan (foreground) (picture by Sean Neill)

..... and THIS is the plaque you get for it!!

The Gallows Inn, after an unfortunate period as a "themed" pub with a different name has now reverted to its original one - a good job really, as the lock never changed its name!!
